DESCRIPTION: EPW - Piguet, Gilluame & Co, Sentier & Geneva, minute repeater, 51mm, 18K gold original OF case with blue enamel initials to rear, small Jürgensen-style lips, gold cuvette over glazed mvt observation cover, white enamel SS dial, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, 26-33J, wolf's tooth winding, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#8669 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 72.1 dwt (112.1 g). From the estate of David Strudler.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, occasional good repeat function but fairly frequent returns that are short by one minute and only on rarer occasions will minute return a full 14 strikes on final minute before quarter-hours, overhaul needed if fully normalized repeat function is desired, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered small fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with short but wide surface scratch right of 12, few small nicks and fine scratches elsewhere; excellent hands; case shows little wear, ding to lower rear shoulder above left side of hinge, few scattered lesser dings and nicks elsewhere to rear perimeter and to band, protruding ding at cuvette center, rear enameling largely intact with few areas of loss the largest of which is at center; tight bow, crown shows medium wear with ridge break; good glass front crystal, clean plastic mvt cover crystal.
